When a crime brings them back to L.A., fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto reignites his feud with agent Brian O’Conner. But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmaneuver him. And the two men will find the best way to get revenge: push the limits of what’s possible behind the wheel.

With its ubiquitous muscle cars, hot babes, along with a catchy soundtrack, this sequel is sure to entertain its target audience of young men searching for a few hard-bodied eye candy. Devotees of this franchise should also be particularly pleased with the yield of Diesel and the underappreciated Rodriguez, who is especially exciting to see from the opening chase sequence.
What’s disappointing is how author Chris Morgan (who wrote Wanted and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift) has made Fast & Furious so angsty. Walker is incapable of looking revived, so why give him rambling monologues about respect and codes of behavior? Diesel doesn’t grieve so far as squint and grimace, yet audiences are subjected to scene after scene of him trying to behave wistful, like when he stares in an old picture or the car he and Letty restored. Let us get real — people do not care about Dom’s feelings, so they simply want to see him rev his engine in unbelievable chase sequences. The rest is filler.
The original crew is back, and they’re all still FAST & FURIOUS. Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his girlfriend, Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), are conducting a profitable gas-stealing plot from the Dominican Republic if he receives a tip that the feds are following him again. Afraid to undermine his friends, he splits to Panama, where his sister, Mia (Jordana Brewster), eventually calls with dreadful news. Driven by a need for vengeance, Dom returns into the roads of L.A., where he is determined to catch the thug who’s wronged him. To the end, he reluctantly teams up with Paul Walker’s FBI Agent Brian O’Conner (that deceived Dom in the original movie) to bring down the head of an international drug ring.
